A friend asked us to find something to help her mom who is in hospice with aggressive cancer. … It feels like almost every time I am researching for someone, the same thing comes up in the research… Curcumin, which is in Turmeric. I used to think, “Why doesn’t YL make a Turmeric essential oil?” (see below for why). Then YL’s Golden Turmeric tea came out and I thought it would be just as good. But there is a lot more to it than that. Turmeric tea only has about 5% curcumin and the human body doesn’t absorb it well, especially without black pepper, but black pepper essential oil will not help.
Other sources:
- Turmeric (Curcuma longa) rhizome extract is the best option. The rhizome is the part of the turmeric plant that has the highest concentration of curcumin and other beneficial curcuminoids. And if you add Black pepper fruit extract, as they did in AGILEASE, studies show this can increase the bioavailability of curcumin by up to 2000% in humans.
- Root CONCENTRATE is 2nd best. It has a higher concentration of curcumin compared to the raw root EXTRACT which has some curcumin but lower than the 1st two options.
- Root oil… The reason YL doesn’t make Turmeric root essential oil is because the oil is obtained through steam distillation or solvent extraction, which doesn’t effectively extract the curcumin compound because it’s not a “volatile oil”
YL puts the Curcumin root concentrate and root oils into MASTER FORMULA because they’re still loaded with other healthy curcuminoids. Here are those benefits…
Root concentrate: – Anti-inflammatory for arthritis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and certain types of cancer. Powerful antioxidants. Its neuroprotective properties help with neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Root oil: – has wound-healing properties to help heal the gut wall. Combined with its ability to kill bacteria and fungus, Turmeric root oil could be very beneficial in controlling leaky gut and inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn’s or Ulcerative Colitis.
