I found an article about a 3 yr old girl with RSV (Keep in mind. She also had various chronic breathing problems). Doctors had her on oxygen and steroids for 17 days but she couldn’t defeat the virus. She was in and out of the hospital because the oxygen level of her blood kept dropping. Normally, oxygen levels are 95-100%. Below 90% your lips turn blue and you can’t think straight, she was 83%. Keep in mind they had big doses of concentrated oxygen going straight up her nose.
Then they tried diffusing oils. After two days of oils, they sent her home from the pediatric ICU with 97% Oxygen saturation. She was using Peppermint, Balsam Fir, a type of Lavender and Marjoram that young living doesn’t sell. BUT the active ingredients in those oils (cineole, menthol, eucalyptol, and camphor) are all in Raven… RC is the closest thing to Raven, it’s also VERY good but slightly different.
What’s fascinating to me is the explanation of why the oils worked. Researchers freely acknowledged that the oils are antiviral, anti-bacterial, and mucolytic (break up mucus) but the important part was the oils’ tiny size. Some oils evaporate into particles that are only 126 Atomic Mass Units (AMU). For comparison, Albuterol is 576 AMU and another medication they used is almost 30,000 AMU. So the oils can get much deeper into the lungs than the meds. Oils can go all the way to the tiny sacs in the lungs that actually absorb the oxygen molecules into the blood… These sacks are called Alveoli.

So what? Well, the air we breathe travels down increasingly narrow passages until it hits the final passage where the alveoli are mounted (see picture). These final, tiny passages are called Bronchioles.
RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia in children under 1 year of age in the US. If the bronchioles are inflamed, oxygen can’t get to the Alveoli to be absorbed into the blood.
